50/30/20 Alpaca-Merino-Silk Roving - 4 oz - $22.00
4 ounces of absolutely sinful blend of alpaca, merino and silk. The alpaca and silk makes it wonderfully soft and with a nice drape, while the addition of merino will give it memory and spring. So easy to draft it almost spins itself, it's a bit slippery but still easy to handle for a less experienced spinner.
Felts nicely

Silk Hankies - 1 oz - $18.00
Silk hankies or Mawatas (Japanese for "to spread around") are made by de-gumming cocoons from the Bombyx mori silk worm and then stretching them in layers over a frame until dry. They take dye beautifully and are wonderfully versatile. They can be spun, felted, knitted or crocheted without spinning or in paper crafts.
The company that produces my supplier's silk hankies is in the Jiangsu province of China. The factory, a family business, has been passed down from father to son. Their main production focus is silk yarn for Japanese kimonos. They have continued the tradition of producing the silk hankies and caps mainly to provide employment and support the local economy. They produce approximately 500 kg of silk caps and 450 kg of silk hankies per month. A relatively small percent of these caps and hankies make their way into the spinning/felting/paper making market, the majority of the hankies are used for batting for quilts and kimonos.
Hankies naturally make a slightly textured yarn, with occasional slubs and a lower sheen due to the little short bits.
I make every effort to not have white spots in the middle of the stack, but occasionally there may be a few. I've never found it to be an issue and often adds a wonderful unexpected depth to a project..
